Smart locks in Dubai, fitted with the door

A smart lock replaces the key with a fingerprint, a face, a code, a card or a phone. Fitted well, it is the most used piece of hardware in the house and the one guests notice. Fitted badly, into a door that was not made for it, it rattles, misaligns and fails. We fit smart locks as part of the door: the leaf is machined for the lock body in production, the strike is set into the frame, the lock is fitted at installation, paired to your phone and tested on every access method before we leave.

We also fit smart locks to existing doors where the door is sound. The lock body needs a mortice pocket of the right size, a door thickness within the lock's range, and a frame that will take the strike. We check all three on site, and where the existing door cannot take the lock we will say so and quote a replacement leaf.

Which smart lock for which door

An entrance door takes a full mortice smart lock with a lever or a handleset, with fingerprint and keypad as the everyday methods and a mechanical key override behind a cover. A pivot door takes the same lock planned around the pivot. A bedroom or study door takes a slim smart lever or a fingerprint knob. A gate or an outdoor door takes a weather rated rim lock. Glass doors take locks made for glass. Fire rated doors take only locks tested with the door set.

Apps, platforms and guests

The locks we fit run on the TTLock and Tuya platforms, which let you open the door from your phone, issue temporary codes to guests, cleaners and contractors, see who came in and when, and withdraw access without changing a lock. WiFi gateways allow remote unlocking from anywhere. Named brands such as Häfele, Yale, Samsung and dormakaba can be supplied on request.
