Chevron veneer double door, Mudon
A pair of entrance doors in a two tone chevron veneer, dark and mid brown, with twin brass pull bars and a flush meeting stile, for a villa in Mudon. Made to order and installed by our team.
The brief
The owner wanted a statement entrance in timber with a pattern, on a villa with a plain rendered facade.
What we made
Two flush leaves on solid engineered cores, faced in a chevron of two veneer tones laid so the pattern runs across both leaves as one composition when closed, lacquered, with a long brass pull on each leaf and a mortice lock on the active leaf.
Why it works
The chevron is the only detail, and the brass pulls sit in the quiet band at the centre of it. Laying the pattern across both leaves rather than mirroring it is what makes the pair read as one door.
