Bedroom doors

A bedroom door should close softly, feel solid and keep the room private. We make bespoke bedroom doors for Dubai homes with solid cores, matching frames and quiet hardware, in veneer, lacquer or paint, flush or panelled.

Oak Veneer Flush Door With Black Lever

What makes a good bedroom door

Weight and sealing make the difference. A solid core leaf with a well fitted frame and perimeter seals cuts sound from the corridor and closes with a soft, even click. We pair it with a magnetic latch or a quality sash lock so it stays quiet day and night.

For the master bedroom many clients choose a taller leaf or a pair of doors, drawn to the scale of the room.

Bedroom door design

A bedroom door is the door you close most often, so it has to be quiet, solid and easy on the eye. The design usually follows the rest of the house: a flush veneer door in walnut or oak for a contemporary villa, a painted panelled door with a brass lever for a classic one, or a full height door with a concealed frame where the architecture is minimal. For a master bedroom the door is often taller or a pair, drawn so it reads as the entrance to the main suite rather than another corridor door. Children's rooms take the same door as the rest of the floor so the corridor stays consistent, with a lever that is easy for small hands and a privacy turn that can be released from outside.

Simple bedroom door designs that work

The simplest designs age best. A flush leaf in a single veneer with a slim architrave and a black or brass lever. A flush leaf painted to match the wall with a shadow gap frame so the door almost disappears. A two panel shaker door in white or a soft colour with a round rose lever. A flush door with three or five routed horizontal grooves for a little texture. Each of these can be made in a standard 900 mm by 2100 mm size or taken to full height, and all of them are available in the door designer so you can see them drawn before you decide.

Quiet, solid, private

What separates a good bedroom door from a builder's door is the core and the seals. We use a solid core leaf, which has the weight to close with a soft click and cuts corridor noise, a frame with perimeter seals, and a magnetic latch or a quality sash lock so the door is silent when it latches. A drop seal at the bottom closes the gap under the door for light and sound, which matters for a nursery or a bedroom facing a landing. Concealed hinges are an option on flush doors so no hinge is visible from either side.

Hardware for bedroom doors

Bedroom doors take a lever handle on a rose with a privacy turn, or a lever on a plate with a key for a guest room. Soft close hinges are available on hinged doors as well as sliding ones. Smart locks are usually reserved for the main door, but a fingerprint knob suits a home office or a bedroom used as a studio. Browse the Olivari, Tupai and Devon collections on the hardware pages and match the finish to the rest of the house.

What a bedroom door costs

Interior doors start from AED 3,800 for the door and frame in a paint or veneer finish. Installation, removal of the old door, the lock, the handle, the hinges and the architrave are itemised on the quote, so you choose the hardware brand and see what it adds. Grooves, mouldings, inlays and other design work are additional, and the finish moves the price: PU paint in matt or gloss, a veneer press in oak, walnut, teak or ash, or a laminate finish. Most bedroom doors fall between AED 3,800 and AED 8,000 depending on these choices. A whole floor of doors is quoted as one package.

Matching frames and a whole house package

Most of our bedroom door work is a package: every bedroom, bathroom and corridor door on a floor, made to one design with matching frames, architraves and hardware, measured together and installed in one visit. It costs less per door than buying them one at a time, and the house reads as one scheme. The designer lets you add each door with its room name and quantity, so you can send the whole schedule in one enquiry.

How we work

From site measure to installation

Four steps, one point of contact, and nothing made until you approve the drawings.

  1. Site measure

We visit, measure the opening, check the wall build up and floor level, and talk through how the door should look and work.

  2. Drawings and samples

You receive shop drawings and physical finish samples. Nothing goes into production until you or your designer approve them.

  3. Made to order

Your door is factory produced to the approved drawings, with production updates as it moves through the build and a quality check before it leaves.

  4. Installed by our team

Our fitting team installs, adjusts and hands over the door, with one point of contact from the first visit to the last adjustment.

Questions

Frequently asked

Can bedroom doors reduce noise?

A solid core leaf, a well fitted frame and perimeter seals reduce sound from the corridor noticeably. If you need a specific acoustic performance, tell us at the site measure and we will specify the build to suit.

What is a simple bedroom door design that still looks premium?

A flush veneer leaf with a slim frame and a black or brass lever is simple, timeless and hard to beat. Horizontal grooves or a single vision strip add detail without clutter.

How long does a bespoke door take?

Lead time depends on the size, finish, hardware and how quickly drawings are approved. We confirm the programme in writing when you approve the drawings, and keep you updated during production.

How much does a bedroom door cost in Dubai?

From AED 3,800 for the door and frame, with installation, removal, lock, handle, hinges and architrave itemised separately. Grooves, mouldings and the choice of finish move the figure, and most bedroom doors land between AED 3,800 and AED 8,000.

What is the standard size of a bedroom door in Dubai?

Most bedroom doors are 900 mm wide by 2100 or 2400 mm high. Full height doors run to the ceiling. We make any size to the opening.

Which bedroom door is best for sound?

A solid core leaf with perimeter seals and a drop seal, closed on a magnetic latch. That combination cuts most corridor noise without an acoustic door.

Should bedroom doors match the main door?

They should share the family: the same finish or the same colour logic and the same handle finish. The main door can be more expressive; the bedroom doors should be calm.

Can bedroom doors be painted to match the walls?

Yes. A painted flush door with a shadow gap frame makes the door almost disappear, which suits minimal corridors and hidden door designs.

Do you supply the frames and architraves?

Yes. Every door comes with its frame, architrave or shadow gap profile, hinges, latch and handle, fitted by our team.
